IIIT-C established by the Government of West Bengal in association with the IT industry, is conceived to be an apex institute for IT education, training and research. Its broad vision is to serve as a catalyst and an agent of change to steer the State of West Bengal towards integration with the global network society in the new millennium.

The values, for which IIIT-C stands can be expressed in terms of the following phrases:

Objectives

 ●  To grow into a centre of excellence for education, research and short term training in focused areas of IT.                             

 ●  To create an ambiance in which young IT professionals can blossom as entrepreneurs to set up units in West Bengal.

 ● To serve as a catalyst in improving the quality of educational programs in IT being offered by various institutions of the State.

 ●  To establish itself as a Virtual Network University in due course that may cater to the requirement of IT education and training in the whole of India and outside.

 ●  To serve as a think-tank for the State Government in all conceivable areas of IT application including e-governance and promotion of IT application in agricultural and industrial sectors of the State.
